Nigeria: A View from the Mountain

We climbed as the police watched us from across the street. Or at least we thought they were looking. The view was well worth the risk of getting in trouble. It reminded me of the sunset I watched in Cape Town while climbing down from Lion’s Head Mountain. Some moments I wish I could freeze and this was certainly one of them. Beautiful serenity above the hustle and bustle of the city.

If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. ~ African Proverb

I believe we are on the verge of a true revolution of thought as it relates to grassroots movements, with the increased usage of crowd funding, the ability to stay connected through social media and to build with brothers and sisters all around the world. This is a time, where people who were traditionally the underdogs, have the opportunity to reach across previous barriers and create real social and economic change. That means collaborating on business projects through networks and standing in solidarity against injustices against humanity and nature. This is a shift in consciousness that not everyone is ready for but the Earth is in dire need for us to get our ish together and learn how to work for the good of all and not just the good of ourselves.

Many hands make light work. ~Haya (Tanzania) Proverb
